Gucci x Dapper Lou

I'm extremely humbled and honored to share this special collaboration Gucci asked me to be apart of. This year, 2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the iconic "Horsebit" loafer. To celebrating, through the month Gucci is publishing vintage photos of muses like Jodie Foster, Matt Dillon, Jane Birkin and modern style influencers like Tommy Ton, Dennie Lias, Matthew Zorpas and myself. The people they selected come from different parts of the globe so it's interesting to see how we styled the Horsebit loafers.

Typically, my idea of spring is all white top and pants, loafers and a fedora and that is exactly how I styled this shoot. I like sticking to what I feel comfortable in and experiment  gradually. In these shots, I'm wearing a classic Borsalino hat that I purchased last summer in SoHo. Varsity jacket by Leisure Life ( btw they are opening up a store in Brooklyn), white Buckler waistcoat, white Uniqlo jeans and rose goal Brera watch. The black and white scarf, white vintage belt and orange colored Horsebit loafers are all Gucci.

When I received the shoes my buddy Ali of A Noble Savage crossed my mind because he owns an extensive vintage archive Gucci collection. Then we called Brooklyn Photographer Benjamin Rosser to shoot because he has a sick eye. Not, literally sick but you know what I mean an amazing vision.  Yes folks, three gents, about two hours of shooting and one pair horsebit loafers brings you some fresh content straight out of Crown Heights, Brooklyn.  Enjoy

Thank you Gucci for this amazing experience! See you in Milan in June (fingers crossed).

  14. Sir - I have had your site in my 'favorites' list for a while. I'm a fan and big supporter. When I logged on this morning I was so pleased to see your colaboration with GUCCI, in fact, I'm quite jealous. As a GUCCI collector, I always have a piece of theirs own, always. Everyone has their own opinion but, to me, they are as classic and elegant as you are going to get and the best in the business. I will FOREVER be a fan and be buried in a pair of horsebit loafers. Safe travels to Milan my friend.
